Country Sourdough Loaf
$8Three-day fermented, blistered crust, custardy open crumb. Milled-that-week flour from Ellery Farms.
Scratch-made sourdough, hand-laminated pastries, and a daily special that depends entirely on what looked good at the farmers market. Pulled from the oven before the sun is up.
Open today until 2:00pm · Closed Mondays

Nora Whitfield started selling loaves out of her home kitchen in 2016 with a rye starter she named Marigold. Nine years later Marigold is still alive, still temperamental, and still the base of nearly everything we bake.
We mill-order flour from Ellery Farms twenty minutes north, buy fruit from whoever has the best of it that week, and make everything by hand each morning — because that's the only way it tastes like this.
No shortening, no shortcuts. European butter in every lamination.
Everything is sold the day it's baked, or donated that evening.
Ovens on at 3:15am so the first loaf hits the shelf at 6:30.

“I moved three neighborhoods away and I still drive back on Saturdays. That sourdough is worth the gas money.”
“They catered my daughter's baby shower — forty morning buns, delivered warm. People are still texting me about them.”
“The kind of place where they know your order and ask about your dog. The quiche is dangerous. Truly dangerous.”
We're the little green door beside the flower shop. Street parking is easiest before 9am.
